Behind Every Gift You Make

Behind Every Gift You Make

is someone whose life is a little brighter.

These stories share how one person has been touched by your kindness. Every story is a real moment of connection, dignity, and joy made possible because of you.

Every month, we’ll add a new one to this collection, so you can look back anytime and see the many lives your generosity has touched. If one of these stories moves you, we invite you to give again and help write the next one. Every gift, big or small, can brighten the day for another neighbor who needs a little extra care.

You Gave Kay a Safer Home

September 2026

At 86, Kay had experienced multiple floods in her home because of a 32-year-old toilet. Her toilet was only one of the challenges she faced. Everyday tasks in her bathroom had become increasingly difficult and dangerous. She worried about falling or struggling to move safely in her own home.

With help from Homage’s Minor Home Repair team and support through the Older Adult Home Modification Program, Kay received a new toilet and important safety modifications to her bathroom and shower.

“I would never have known how much safer and easier my 86-year-old disabled body could be so incredibly improved by your bath and shower solutions,” shared Kay. “I haven’t had any falls or injuries now that I have my ADA equipment! My shower is no longer a dangerous challenge! My grab bar has saved me twice! I’m able to get up from my toilet without a struggle.”

Today, Kay’s home is safer, her toilet is working properly, and she can move through her bathroom with greater confidence and independence. She is especially grateful for the Homage staff who responded quickly when she needed help.

“I’m so grateful for Homage and all the staff! Matt and Brian are always so polite and talented. The speed at which they got here and solved a huge problem was amazing! Kudos to Lisa who took my distress call.”

Because of your generosity, older adults and people with disabilities like Kay can receive the repairs and home modifications they need to remain safe and independent in the homes they love. Thank you for helping make these life-changing improvements possible.

Together, we can help more people live safely, independently, and with dignity in their own homes. Your generosity can help someone like Kay get the support they need.
