Support the Homage Senior Companion Program
Where compassionate companions and older adults thrive
Every week, volunteers like 71-year-old Paul Pollard and 74-year-old Mary Oyoo make a difference by visiting older adults and people with disabilities in our community. Through the Homage Senior Companion Program, these compassionate companions help preserve independence, reduce isolation, and allow seniors to live in their homes longer.
Senior Companions Provide:
- Friendly companionship
- Transportation to appointments and shopping*
- Support for organizing tasks
- Respite for family caregivers
*The ability to drive is not a requirement of volunteering
“I get a sense of helping,” says Paul. “I’ve been blessed, so now it’s my time to give back.”
“Volunteering transformed me,” says Mary. “I’ve learned that everyone has struggles, and I wanted to be one of the people who provides help.”
The Need is Growing
“The need for compassionate companions has never been more pressing,” shares Mary Ann Higgins, Senior Companion Program Coordinator. “Many seniors are waiting for a companion who can brighten their lives and connect them with essential support.”
