Volunteer with Homage

We have ongoing volunteer recruitment for the following programs:
Homage AmeriCorps Foster Grandparent Program – Older adults provide children with special and/or exceptional needs one-on-one support at community locations such as schools and daycares. Volunteers must be 55+. Small stipend for those who meet income guidelines.
Homage AmeriCorps Senior Companions – Help isolated older adults in King and Snohomish Counties stay in their homes by offering socialization, walking companions or lunch buddies in weekly home visits. Must be 55+ and low-income to serve. Call 425-355-1138 for more information.
Nutrition Support – Help our Nutrition Program provide meals to homebound older adults and persons with disabilities. Opportunities exist for relief produce packers, meal packers, and relief meals on wheels volunteer drivers.
Senior Peer Counseling – Volunteers 55+ provide one-on-one counseling for adults 60 and older who are struggling with life changes, loss, or other emotional issues. No counseling experience is necessary. Forty hours of initial training is provided and there are monthly meetings. New training will be held in the spring.
Other areas where support is needed:
- Advocacy and Outreach: Take a moment to thank our elected officials for their votes and support in securing funding for the Older American’s Act, Meals on Wheels, and emergency meals for vulnerable populations.
- Raise Awareness on Social Media: To help spread the word about Homage and receive the most updated news about our programs, follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
- Volunteer at Local Food Banks: Many of you are concerned that our clients have adequate food. Until we can use your skills directly, please consider volunteering with our area food banks. Many of our clients utilize these resources.
Volunteers are an integral part of the work Homage does. By donating your time, you can play an invaluable role in supporting our older adults, people with disabilities, and their families.
Just a few hours of your time is priceless to the older adults and people with disabilities we serve every day. Whether it’s a friendly visit, transportation to an appointment, delivering meals to those who are homebound or peer counseling, your time and energy are appreciated by everyone at Homage.
