Become a Homage Volunteer

Volunteer programs available:

Administrative Help—Share your clerical, computer, and administrative skills to support Homage’s work for our older adults and people with disabilities. You could volunteer at our front desk or help one of many different programs that need administrative support.

Advocacy Committee Members—Elevate the needs and concerns of older adults and people with disabilities in Snohomish County and support the resources and services required to keep them active and independent as long as possible. The committee meets on the fourth Thursday of every other month.

Chinese Translators—In addition to helping with the Chinese Group on Tuesdays, we are also looking for tech-savvy volunteers to assist participants with simple tasks like using a phone or tablet, hooking up to Wi-Fi, and helping them understand apps and how to download them.

Filipino Translators—If you desire to assist older adults and speak Tagalog, please consider volunteering with our Filipino group. In addition to translating, the position includes hosting a coffee/tea bar, checking folks in for lunch, and cashiering.

Foster Grandparent Program in Snohomish & King Counties – Older adults provide children with special and/or exceptional needs one-on-one support at community locations such as schools and daycares.  Foster Grandparent Program volunteers must be 55+. A small stipend is available for those who meet income guidelines.

Friendly Connections Calling Program—Do you have an extra hour or two a week to help a lonely adult? Do you want to give back to your community from the comfort of your home? If you’ve answered yes, please consider this new opportunity, which pairs volunteers with older adults who need greater social connections. 

Korean Translators—If you desire to assist older adults and speak Korean, please consider volunteering with our Korean group. In addition to translating, the position includes hosting a coffee/tea bar, checking folks in for lunch, and cashiering.

Outreach Opportunities—If you enjoy being out in the community and interacting with others, we would love to have your help spreading the word about Homage’s services and ways to help our older adult population.    

Relief Helpers—Our Nutrition Program can use relief volunteer Meals on Wheels drivers to help with morning routes and packers who help in the afternoons by putting meals together for the following day.

Senior Companion Program in Snohomish and King Counties: Help seniors stay in their homes by providing socialization, serving as a lunch or walking companion, transportation, and organization support through weekly visits or phone calls. Senior Companion Program: Must be 55+ and meet income limits to volunteer.  

Senior Peer Counseling—Volunteers 55+ provide one-on-one counseling for adults 60 and older struggling with life changes, loss, or other emotional issues. No counseling experience is necessary. Forty hours of initial training are provided, and there are monthly meetings and multiple trainings throughout the year.

Spanish-speaking volunteers—Consider helping support our Hispanic Group on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month or translating materials for our programs. We could also benefit from someone hosting a coffee/tea bar, checking people in for lunch, cashiering, and potentially helping with their lunch program.

Volunteer Drivers—Help older adults get to and from doctor appointments, grocery shopping, and necessary errands. A clean driving record and proof of insurance are required. Mileage reimbursement is available.

Vietnamese volunteers—If you desire to assist older adults and speak Vietnamese, please consider volunteering with our Vietnamese group. In addition to translation opportunities, the position includes hosting a coffee/tea bar, checking people in for lunch, and cashiering.
