Many older adults can become isolated from their communities. Through our social support and activity volunteer programs, volunteers build relationships with clients and have meaningful one-on-one and group interactions.
- Foster Grandparent Program: Older adults provide one-on-one support to children with special and/or exceptional needs at community locations such as schools and daycare. Volunteers must be 55+, and a small stipend is available for those who meet income guidelines.
- Meals on Wheels: Drivers assist with weekly deliveries to homebound adults in Snohomish County.
- Multicultural Services: Volunteers help with translation, on-site meal service, and classes at the Multicultural Senior Center in Lynnwood.
- Senior Peer Support: Volunteers 55+ provide one-on-one counseling for adults 60 and older struggling with life changes, loss, or other emotional issues. No counseling experience is necessary. There are 40 hours of initial training and monthly meetings.
- Volunteer Drivers: Help those who no longer drive get to their appointments, run errands, and grocery shopping.
- Senior Companions: Help seniors stay in their homes by running errands, doing light housekeeping, and/or providing companionship through weekly home visits. (Must be 55+ years old and meet income limits).
Requirements: Required background check.
