Social Connections

Many older adults can become isolated from their communities. Through our social support and activity volunteer programs, volunteers build relationships with clients and have meaningful interactions both one on one and in group settings.

  • Foster Grandparent Program: Older adults provide children with special and/or exceptional needs one-on-one support at community locations such as schools and daycare. Volunteers must be 55+. A small stipend for those who meet income guidelines. More info
  • Living Well Leaders: Facilitate 6-week workshops on health topics, including diabetes, pain and other chronic conditions. 
  • Meals on Wheels: Drivers assist with weekly deliveries to homebound adults in Snohomish County.
  • Multicultural Services: Volunteers help with translation, on-site meal service, and classes held at the Multicultural Senior Center located in Lynnwood.
  • Senior Peer Counseling: Volunteers 55+ provide one-on-one counseling for adults 60 and older who are struggling with life changes, loss, or other emotional issues. No counseling experience necessary. 40 hours of initial training and monthly meetings.
  • Volunteer Drivers: Help those who no longer drive get to their appointments, run errands, and grocery shopping.
  • Senior Companions: Help seniors stay in their homes by running errands, doing light housekeeping and/or providing companionship with weekly home visits. (Must be 55+ years and meet income limits). More info
